Actuarial
Studies, demanding, but rewarding
Actuarial Studies
is a demanding, but highly rewarding, area of study that
covers quantitative risk management and modeling and is
the foundation for entry into many areas of the financial
services industry as well as into the highly regarded actuarial
profession.
We
have both an undergraduate Actuarial major and a Master
of Actuarial Studies as well as a research degree program.
The undergraduate degree can be combined with other commerce
and business disciplines as well as with science disciplines
such as Mathematics and Statistics to provide a highly valued
and broad based education.
Our
Masters program is designed for both full and part time
students with a strong quantitative or actuarial science
background. It has a strong focus on quantitative risk management
and prepares students for the increasingly important area
of Enterprise Risk Management. UNSW Actuarial Studies is
a founding university member of the Enterprise
Risk Management Institute International.
The
School web site provides information about actuarial undergraduate
and postgraduate courses available at UNSW, the staff in
actuarial studies, research carried out, research working
papers, course materials for enrolled students and information
about recent and upcoming events in Actuarial Studies.
